A FILM FESTIVAL BUILT ON GRIT, LOYALTY, AND THE UNWRITTEN RULES THAT SHAPE LIFE ON THE MARGINS. CODE OF THE STREETS CELEBRATES CINEMA’S MOST ICONIC URBAN CRIME STORIES, FROM CARLITO’S WAY TO CITY OF GOD, WITH A VISUAL IDENTITY THAT MIRRORS THE TENSION AND SWAGGER OF THE GENRE.
The typography hits like a stacked rap flyer: loud, compressed, urgent. A fractured logotype nods to territory, conflict, and codes passed in whispers, not press releases.
The palette stays raw and street-adjacent, blacks, reds, and burnt tones that feel pulled from alley walls and late-night neon.
Designed for Curtin University’s outdoor screenings, the system works at scale: bold enough to cut through a campus environment, restrained enough to let the films speak.
It’s a celebration of cinema that shaped subculture, influenced music, and rewired modern storytelling, delivered with the honesty and edge the genre deserves.
